St. Aelred’s Community Centre is a provision for both the parish and the wider community.
It was built with the assistance of both a National Lottery grant and the York Challenge Fund, together with the Diocese of Middlesborough, the Knights of St. Columba, (K.S.C.) and the contributions and efforts of the parishioners and the local community.
The centre as a venue offers many facilities for both private and public functions.
The facilities include the provision of meeting rooms and larger areas for social events and group activities, both formal and informal.
A well appointed kitchen area provides facilities for catering, which together with the adjacent hall lends itself to receptions, formal meals etc.
The main hall also includes video facilities via a projection system which allows excellent public presentations with both computer and VCR equipment.
The whole ethos of the centre is to provide a service to all aspects and requirements of the local community.
